Senators led by Alan Dixon and Paul Simon joined 34 colleagues in urging President-elect George Bush to oppose Social Security rules limiting appeals evidence. The plan would require all evidence weeks before hearings and deny hearings for late submissions, potentially hurting elderly and disabled beneficiaries.
