Ornbaun News Of Past Week Highlights Local Visitors

Aug 30 Ornbaun news notes Harry Wolverton proprietor of Ornbaun Springs visited Cloverdale on business. The springs draw many guests who savor the natural water and warm hospitality of Mr and Mrs Wolverton. Mrs W O Endicott of Cloverdale visited her daughter and family. Horace Ornbaun and friends are in the valley on a hunting trip. Chester Bigler visited Cloverdale last week.

Hop picking active at Kirk Ford and Hedlund ranches

Redwood Valley reports hop picking began at Kirk Ford’s ranch with J M Woolley as field bass in a 15 acre site. Clifford Smith and Alec Kauhannen also work as field bass with strong crops. A farewell party for Mr and Mrs Nels Hedlund concluded Saturday night with games coffee sandwiches and cake planned by Mrs Oscar Hollingsworth and Miss L Kistler. Mr Hedlund and son Roy departed Monday for a new home in Halsey Oregon with Mrs Hedlund and the children to follow by train. W H Tindall arrived from Lake County to dry hops on Sunday.
