Weller Funeral Held Under Legion Auspices
The funeral of Elisha Weller who died in France while in service was held here last Saturday. The American Legion conducted pallbearers and attendance, with Rev J Moore delivering a moving service at the grave. Weller’s body arrived Friday afternoon from France.

An art exhibit highlighted the Saturday Afternoon Club meeting at Mrs Hale McCowen Jr s home on November 13. Hostesses Mrs Ferris Moulton and Mrs R R Ingels assisted as the art program chair Mrs C B Hopkins. Living pictures framed art, reading by Mrs Bertha Emery and a Tahoe origin poem preceded a display featuring Aloha and works by Percy Gray L P Latimer Miss Bertha Boye and Mrs Bertha Emery. Committees were formed to raise club funds and December January hostesses named.

C H E Wells, ex serviceman, died November 7 at the state hospital and shipped to Texas for burial. G M Miller visited from Bell Valley. Henry Meyer left for Oakland after visiting friends. Sonora records now 85 cents at J W Eversole's. Ed Himmelwright, returning from Alaska to Willits, worked for a major canning company on Bearanoff Island and praised big game hunting and fishing. Oscar Sanford traveled from Lakeport to join his wife returning from the bay area.
