The Calif property between the Henry Buchholz and C. R. Yarbrough ranches in Redwood Valley was damaged at noon Tuesday by a chimney fire. Four rooms suffered fire smoke and water damage, but the exterior remained intact. Thanks to quick action by Mr and Mrs C R Yarbrough who alerted the fire department, the home and its contents were saved. Mr and Mrs Harry Swinton were away at the time.

Word was received in Ukiah on Thursday of the death in Los Angles of Mrs. Brice Hoskins who passed away Saturday. Hoskins had been ill for years and death is a release from suffering.
