Child loses finger playing with ax
A five year old girl, daughter of Sera fino Realli, living at Boyle's lower camp, had a finger chopped off while playing with an axe. Dr. Preston sewed it back, with hopes of full recovery. Also noted, on Christmas day 1913, Constable John David Boyd of Annapolis and Miss Adeline May Nobles of Point Arena were married, Rev. Duncan Munro officiating.

Christmas morning brought a fine new baby boy to Mr and Mrs C Hargreaves of Laughlin. The stork arrived at the Baptist parsonage in Caspar and both mother and child are reported doing well. The Beacon notes the event with warm local cheer.

Congressman Kent To Distribute Seed To District
Congressman William Kent will distribute his allotment of 20 000 packages of vegetable seed and 2 000 packages of flower seed to First District residents who request them and have not yet sent in applications. The Department of Agriculture will select varieties, and Kent may substitute other varieties when needed. Applications should be sent promptly.

Thurston Buys Anker Electrical Business in Ukiah
San Francisco electrician Bert Thurston purchased Neil Anker’s electrical business in Ukiah and took possession last Monday. Anker accepts a local agent and driver role with Standard Oil Co. starting February. Thurston, a former local, will run operations at North State street with added stock and prompt repair and wiring service.
