The forty eighth annual Ukiah Fire Department masque ball will be New Year’s Eve at Ukiah Grammar School auditorium with dancing from 9 pm, grand march at 9 30, and prizes after 11. Local bands, committees, costumes, and decorations are planned. Funds from the ball support the department’s general fund and historic apparatus, with extra prizes and electric effects promised.

Mendocino County Supervisors Meet To Adjourn and Act
The Mendocino Board met December 13 1926 at 3 30 p m with six members and the deputy clerk present. They approved November 1926 minutes and adjusted Elk and Bridgeport district boundaries. They outlined road fund charges for 1926 districts five four and three, set 1927 bank interest rates, accepted a right of way deed for Willits James bridge road, cancelled an erroneous 1884 assessment, and scheduled a public hearing January 11 1927 for abandoning parts of Hellen and Luce avenues. They approved Indian Reservation rights of way tracings and directed maps be filed with the Interior Department. They authorized 500 for the Anderson valley apple show premiums and ordered destruction of 1924 election returns. They continued the boundary change between second and third supervisorial districts to January 1927 and adjourned to reconvene at 1 30 p m. on the day. Venue: Mendocino County.

F Graf Called by Death Saturday in Ukiah
F Graf a longtime Ukiah resident died last Saturday morning after paralysis. He had a fainting spell Friday while preparing for supper and, aided to a chair by Mrs Graf, his condition worsened to coma. He died about 3:00 am. The Knights of Pythias funeral service was held Monday at Eversole chapel. Graf was a devoted member and widely liked.

Train Wreck Tuesday Delays A A Traffic
A southbound Eureka express derailed after plowing into a freight train in a blinding storm near Maple Spur six miles north of Willits. Three cars were demolished, two men injured, and traffic across the northern division halted as repairs were estimated to take twelve hours. Conductor Claude Edwards and cattleman Percy Jarvis were hospitalized with serious injuries. the crash followed a signal miss on a siding.
