In Glasson Navarre area a woodsman named Gasson was killed when a lamp caused a house fire early Sunday. Fred Duffield reported the victim returned home drunk and the ensuing blaze trapped him as the room filled with flames. The house and contents burned. Gasson’s body was burned beyond recognition. His ex wife and daughter, last heard from in San Francisco, are being sought, and authorities aim to locate his father in Oregon to inform him.

Crash Victims Sue For Large Amounts
Macy Leak of Willits, owner of ice and soda plants at Willits, Ukiah, Fort Bragg and Lakeport, is named in two suits seeking a total of 12500 dollars. Edward Carver of Willits asks 5000 dollars for injuries from a collision with a defendant truck. Mildred Mast of Willits seeks 7500 dollars for injuries from the same crash. The accident occurred on the Redwood highway about 30 miles north of Hopland on October 8 due to careless operation of the truck.
