Death and Burial of Mrs. Matilda Coombs Observed
Notice recalls the Clinton Missouri obituary and funeral details for Mrs. Matilda Coombs mother of Mrs. C. C. Barnett and Mrs. N. E. Stone of Dillon. She lived fourteen years in Dillon and died in Chicago after visiting daughter Lizzie Phinney. Her remains were brought to Clinton for burial in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Killed in Philippines Lieut R E Treadwell Remembered in Dillon
The death of Lieut R E Treadwell in the Philippines was reported to his sister Mrs. Rube Tritt and father J S Treadwell in Dillon. He rose from Dillon youth to Boise City and volunteered in the Spanish American War before earning a commission with Philippine scouts and serving bravely until his death near Barauen and Sitio Marabou.
