Proposing to Sallie Tests Barry's Concert Night
In a tense scene, Sallie weighs Barry's marriage proposal to a married woman as he vies for artistic glory. Barry argues love and loyalty to his music, while Sallie recalls Curtiss and Lemoyne and considers the moral limits of their relationship as he prepares to debut his spring composition. The moment hangs on whether she will offer hope or deny him.
