Funeral Rites Held for Roger Lamont in Dillon

Roger Lamont 17, son of Mrs Julia Lamont, died Friday after a gun accident near Lakeview. The revolver discharged when it slipped from a holster, wounding him in the chest as friends drove to Monida for help. Funeral Sunday at the Lamont home with Rev. Dr. Martin officiating and a cemetery service at Mountain View.

Democrats meet at old Bannack street quarters to re organize the Jefferson club. J B McKinney is president Eugene L Poindexter secretary H L Mc Caleb Frank Knotts N M Staudaker George Wolf Jasper Nelson on executive. Heinze of Butte attends with two friends signing as members. Heinze’s party rides in his $6000 automobile from Butte to Dillon. The question lingers: is Heinze a Democrat or a Heinze club leader.

Beaverhead County Republicans Nominate Ticket at City Convention

Beaverhead County Republicans met at the courthouse last Saturday with L. J. Price elected permanent chairman and B. F. White named to head the county central committee. The convention adopted a platform endorsing McKinley Roosevelt and pledging support to county officers, with nominations for sheriff and other state and county posts decided in multiple ballots.

Orr gains Irwin livery stables in Idaho street transfer

Dr W C Orr completed a transfer last Wednesday to take ownership of the Irwin livery stables on Idaho street. He took charge the next day and aims to maintain the stable’s high reputation by offering first class livery and careful horse care. Orr will resume his veterinary practice and be at the stable office for prompt cases. He plans a safe stable operation with the P and O barn in the city’s southern part during winter months. The venture is a continuation of his prior experience and is expected to succeed.

Benefit concert for Mrs Pasmore prompts league reception delay

The Epworth League postpones its Normal College students reception to Friday evening Sept 23 due to a benefit for Mrs E J Pasmore promoted by Mrs J B McKinney. The event includes a special musical program refreshments and other entertainment at the M E church lecture room.
