An English born music professor and longtime West Coast conductor, Prof. J. Pasmore, died at St. James hospital in Butte after travel for health. Survived by wife Mrs. George Folsom and daughter, with two other children in Denver and Port Hope. Funeral held at St. James Episcopal church with Masonic rites and flowers, reflecting a life of musical leadership and community service across Virginia City, Denver, Boise, Cheyenne, and Dillon.

A large crowd organized The Roosevelt Club of Beaverhead County Tuesday evening at Anderson’s Meat Market. Al Gruwell elected president Phil Anderegg vice president and committees named to handle finance refreshments and entertainment. The club plans open meetings weekly and full open-house sessions during the county convention week.

Roger Lamont, a Dillon boy, was shot in the right breast near Lakeview while returning from a National Park trip with companions. The bullet passed through the lung and lodged in the shoulder blade. authorities feared for his life as relatives rushed to Monida and Union Pacific trains carried updates to Dillon.

Elkhorn Springs Saw Mill Upgrades Under Way

Primary Election Held in Lima Montana 1904
Seven leading Lima Republicans elect delegates to the County Convention at Dillon on September 3 1904. The meeting in the Lima schoolhouse August 27 elected L C Ford chairman and W E Hughey secretary with Ford named Central Committeeman. Several prominent Democrats pledged GOP support and all praised Theodore Roosevelt and GOP policies promoting protection for ranchers cattlemen sheepmen and laborers. The event drew the largest Lima gathering in years and inspired renewed campaign energy.

School of Music Created at Normal Board Meeting
At a Monday afternoon session the Normal board adopted a resolution creating a school of music. The focus will be vocal training for college students to prepare them to teach singing, with advanced work in vocal and instrumental music. Initially two instructors, a third will be added as it grows, and full organization is expected by October.
