Armstead Youth Drowns While Trying to Retrieve Hat
Charles Gravely a 13 year old Armstead youth drowned after entering deep water to fetch his hat. Allan Bradley his companion attempted a rescue but could not haul him from midstream near Clark's canyon. A Butte youth soon recovered the body with aid from a Dillon doctor after three hours of artificial respiration.

Prominent stockman Herbert F Gilbert dies at Homepark
Herbert F Gilbert a leading Dillon stockman died Monday afternoon at his Homepark ranch from a heart attack. Born March 13 1885 at Butte he grew up in Dillon and later ran the Gilbert Livestock Co then bought the James Judge ranch. Survivors include two sisters five brothers and several relatives. Funeral set Thursday at 2 pm from the Masonic hall with interment at Mountain View. Local banks to close at 2 pm for the services.
