Dillon Celebrates Fiftieth Anniversary With Lavish Parade

The Tribune marks Dillon’s semi centennial with a landmark parade next Wednesday featuring fifty bands floats and divisions. Indians Lewis and Clark fur traders miners and soldiers lead a long procession through Idaho streets to the fairgrounds with additional displays from local businesses and civic groups.

WellKnown Dillon Resident Jesse Wade Dies After Short Illness

Jesse Y. Wade 71 a longtime Dillon resident died early Saturday at his North Washington street home after a brief illness. He lived in Dillon about 20 years after earlier years in Butta born in Mexico Missouri he came west as a young man after time in Montana. A sister in Missouri and a nephew in Seattle survive. Funeral services were held Monday from Brundage chapel with interment in Mountain View cemetery.

New Union Pacific Bus Service Runs Between Butte and Salt Lake City

Union Pacific Stages began operating a new bus service between Butte and Salt Lake City with intermediate stops including Dillon. Ernest Opie of Dillon Oil Company named local agent to handle tickets and information. Southbound buses reach Dillon at 8 50 a m and Salt Lake at 11 25 p m. northbound depart Salt Lake at 7 a m and reach Dillon at 9 45 p m and Butte at 11 45 p m.

Carter Funeral Services for Mrs Anna Selway Carter

Funeral services for the late Mrs Anna Selway Carter will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o clock at the Masonic hall under the auspices of Mizpah chapter of the Eastern Star. Episcopal services will be at the hall and Eastern Star services at the cemetery.

Greater County Fair Opens With Big County Celebrations

Beaverhead residents await the semi centennial fair opening next Wednesday. A large crowd is expected for three days of entertainment with parades, races, balloon ascensions and dancing nightly at Dillmont Park. Middleton accidentally shot in boating accident

Austin B. Middleton, warden of the state prison, was accidentally shot in the right hand when a gun slipped to the bottom of his boat last Friday afternoon. He was treated by Dr. C. Bi Hheades and rushed to Murray hospital in Butte where he was reported out of danger. his little finger was amputated, others expected to be saved. Frank Hazelbaker Jr. left for San Diego to attend a winter school.

Second Mexican in custody linked to Tendoy murder

J Luz Espinoza, the second Mexican believed involved in the Tendoy murder near Lima last June, is in custody in Boise after a federal arrest and a five month liquor sentence. Mrs Tendey identified him as a participant, and extradition proceedings for him and Real Carillo, already in custody, are pending.

Scout Troops Enjoy Overnight Hike to Sheep Can Yon

Members of Troop 42 and Troop 14 Boy Scouts camped overnight at Sheep Can Yon, roughing it under Scoutmaster N C Calhoon. Eleven boys hiked four miles to the site, three walked back, with several earning merit badges in cooking and fire building. Fielding Graves aided in supervision as Dillon scouts plan weekly hikes and new programs with school resuming.

Ducks Roost Low After Opening Dillon Season

With the duck shooting season opening last Tuesday morning Dillon hunters report plenty of ducks on the first day and the town smells of roast duck as many birds are harvested.
