J F Weber Called by Death in Dillon Community
J F Weber, Dillon resident for four years, died at Barrett hospital after a brief pneumonia illness. Born in St Louis Missouri he was 48. He ran apiaries in the county since 1980 and is survived by two sons a brother Harry Weber of Blackfoot Idaho another brother George and two sisters. His wife died five years ago. Funeral was Saturday at 10 from Brunson chapel with Miss Ayers officiating and pallbearers named. he was a Baptist deacon.

Dillon Man Wins Prizes for Spuds
William L. Irvine of Dillon won the major prizes at the annual potato show in Shelley Idaho. He exhibited Dillon grown spuds taking the lion’s share of awards and drew attention for two new tuber varieties. Irvine has long dominated Idaho shows.

Mrs. Elizabeth G. Cornell a Dillon matron and longtime resident, died suddenly in Houston Texas at her sister's home. She was born in Huntsville Texas 59 years ago and moved to Dillon 24 years ago after marrying Roscoe Cornell, prominent sheepman and former mayor. Survived by her husband sister son Roscoe Cornell Sr a University of Washington student and other Texas relatives.

Beacon to Be Built at Dillon Airport
Officials of the Salt Lake to Great Falls line plan improved facilities with marker beacons. Chief Felix Steinle and Edward Miller surveyed between Butte and Monida selecting beacon sites. Mrs. Warren Stone of the Tribune office suffered severe bruises and lacerations Wednesday evening after a door was thrown open by an 80 mile per hour wind as she tried to close it in a moving car north of Divide. Unconscious at the scene she was carried to Butter and later she recovered enough to return home with relatives in Dillon.

Mr and Mrs John Kambieh longtime Beaverhead County residents marked their fifty years of marriage with a ranch, Friday Oct 12. About 87 relatives from Butte Melrose Rocker and Thaho attended a 3 pm luncheon. The couple, who married in Australia then moved to Idaho before settling in Montana 49 years ago, raised a large family in Glen dale.

Government resumes sheep buying here
Beaverhead County stockmen had hope renewed as County Agent Bernard Williams announced the government would resume purchases on a one-half basis per band. About 20 000 sheep were bought previously, with condemned animals killed and hides kept for inspection as Carter for the Federal Surplus Relief Corporation. Cattle sales also reported with 8101 head purchased and receipts totaling 89 660 dollars.
