County Clears Warrants As Bond Sale Advances
Beaverhead county last week took up just over 50 000 in outstanding warrants and paid almost all county indebtedness. Bond sale proceeds were placed on deposit after sale to State Bank and Trust company. About 11 100 in warrants remain blocked by a restraining order, awaiting district court decision.

Dillon superintendent named to national education financing committee
Charles Henry of Dillon schools is appointed a member of a National Education Association committee on financing public education. Williamson house to be razed in Dillon soon
The Williamson house on East Bannack Street, an 1882 landmark once a principal rooming house, will be torn down per a recent owner announcement. Built by William Williamson, it has long served as a lodging house. No future use for the site is announced. Mr and Mrs Harold Warner retired Thursday for an outing on the Madison.

Firemen Respond Quickly to Shed Fire Near Home
At about 3 30 Tuesday morningvolunteer firemen raced to a shed used as an assay office behind the Louis Schmittroth residence on South Washington street and prevented spread to adjacent buildings. The blaze started in an assaying oven heated by oil operated by Walter Schmittroth. The shed and its contents were destroyed and a nearby barn suffered heat damage. Loss is about 500 dollars, partly insured.

The annual Elks party sponsored by Dillon Ellis at the I. O. O. F. hall Tuesday evening drew over 50 couples for a delightful autumn social. Music for dancing was provided by the ae orchestra.
