The parade committee reports broad business and organizational support, with Lewis & Clark division by Mrs. J W Scott and 25 riders planned, plus high school band, a Catello band tentative, Elk’s drum corps, and miniature trains run by Union Pacific.

A. L. Krause, field scout executive, spent a week in Dillon praising progress in local scouting. Troop 42, organized earlier in the summer, is thriving under Scoutmaster N. C. Calhoon and a supportive committee. St James church will register Dillon’s third troop soon, with Rev. Tragitt handling blanks as preparations continue before Krause’s return the week of October 1.

Mexican Returned Addition for Trial
Real Carillo arrived Sunday afternoon in Dillon from Salt Lake City. Authorities say he is the man wanted for the June 28 murder of Chief Tendoy at his camp near Lima. Sheriff Orr and County Attorney Gilbert plan to file first degree murder charges once Carillo is brought to trial.

Beaverhead Schools Open Fall Semester With Good Attendance
Beaverhead county high school and Normal training school opened for the fall term with strong first day enrollment. High school registered 294 students, six more than last year, and Principal Wahl expects attendance to exceed 3800. Continuous class sessions run 8:30 to 2:36 with lunch during vacant periods, boosting afternoon activities. Training school Monday enrollment totaled 178 in the primary department and 268 in the intermediate and upper grades, against last year’s 198 and 286 for the first month.

Beaverhead Fair promises three days of grand events
Arrangements are nearly complete for a three day Beaverhead Fair with a new sheep barn and a National wool warehouse connecting the grounds for easy movement. Livestock exhibits stay in the large warehouse with local businesses and school displays. The Dillon fire department hosts nightly amusements and dances. Balloon ascensions by the Thompson brothers are planned, with Miss Willa Mindahl possibly performing. A chariot race, relay events, native exhibitions, and band performances by Prof Gregory’s 50 piece group plus the Po catello band are scheduled, culminating in a parade featuring Silk’s drum corps and other attractions.

Prisoner Escapes From County Jail In Dubois Case
Melrose Leister held on suspicion of involvement with Albert Coleman in the Dubois Idaho pump house and post office robbery escaped Friday night from the basement jail at the county courthouse. He used a metal brace and broom handle to force the lock and slipped out through back entrances. a second prisoner present was asleep and also left when the door was found open. Coleman was later returned to Dubois by Sheriff Raynor.

High School Grid Prospects Bright
Coach Brick Breeden leads a large freshman class with a veteran core at the county high school. About 80 to 40 players report for practice after uniforms were issued. Last season’s starters Kerr Kent and Starr return, joined by several subs and promising second-string players. Five games scheduled with two home and three away contests include Butte Central, Galatin, Livingston, Deer Lodge, and Butte High.

Mrs Lucy B Rodgers wife of Judge H G Rodgers of the fifth judicial district died at her South Atlantic home last Saturday evening after a brief illness. Born August 19 1877 in Monticello NL she moved with her family to Montana and married Mr Rodgers August 18 1899. survivors include her husband two sons Henry Jr and Hiram two sisters and several relatives. Funeral held at the Baptist church with Rev R O Shannon officiating and burial in Mountain View cemetery.
