Hon. Joseph M. Dixon and a party spoke at a Beaverhead rally in Dillon. L J Price presided at the Dillon Theatre as four speakers addressed a packed crowd for three hours. The program featured a brass band reception and strong praise for Dixon and Roosevelt era Republican aims.
A large crowd greeted the 7 28 evening train in Dillon as Roosevelt club members escorted visiting speakers to Hotel Medlen. Hon Jos M Dixon state representative candidate, Harry Cunningham state auditor candidate, Prof W E Harmon educator, and D F Reese Minnesota speaker addressed Republicans at a packed Dillon theatre about education and public instruction.
The Burfiend block on Center Street between Idaho and Montana streets, costing $5 000 to $6 000, is a two story brick structure with a basement and five first floor store rooms. Occupants include the Dillon Cigar factory and Sun Yuen's Dillon Chinese store. the second floor houses Red Men lodge rooms ready for use next Friday.
Work on the $18,000 Poindexter block at the Idaho and Bannack corner is advancing rapidly with walls up to the second story. The project is slated to be the town’s costliest building this year, as contractor Tom O Connor anticipates completion soon.
Republican caucuses for Dillon north and south precincts met last Saturday to nominate candidates for justice of the peace and constable positions. South precinct at Roosevelt club. north precinct at city hall. Noms include J S Wire and A A Eliott for justice. Frank Patterson Charley Scott for constable. and Josephus Rich Z M Cantrell for justice with Rube Tritt and Wn Sculley for constable.
