Former Dillon Matron Dies in San Jose California
Mrs. R. S. Johnston died in California at age 79 after living in Pillow and later moving to San Jose. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at her daughter Mrs. W. T. Scully’s home on Rice Street with Rev. H. B. Ricketts officiating and burial in Mountain View cemetery. She is survived by another daughter Mrs. Ed Patrick of San Jose, and sons Bert and Harvey of San Jose, and Phon of Yreka, plus several grandchildren.

A crew of burglars struck Alder Millpoint Dillon and Wisdom last week escaping with 90 gallons of gas two guns cigars and cigarettes from various sites. Similar tire marks linked all break ins as Sheriff Orr and Metzel traced the band from Alder to Millpoint. Wisdom saw a Depot store loss of about 25 dollars in cash and merchandise. Undersheriff Hartwig and Inspector Erwin investigated with fingerprint expertise but no arrests yet.

Gas fumes fatal to popular Butte man
Otto Severson well known Dillon and Butte salesman died by asphyxiation in his garage near his Mining City home. His unconscious body was found by his wife Monday afternoon with the car engine running and garage doors closed. Despite two hours of hospital and mine rescue efforts he could not be revived.

Max Rost Dies in Butte Hospital After Operation
Max Rost longtime Beaverhead County ranch hand and sheepman died at a Butte hospital Thursday evening after an operation. He lived in the county about 20 years and worked for Selway Sheep company. Senator E O Selway assisted with the remains brought to Dillon by H M Brundage. Funeral services were held Saturday at Brundage chapel with Rev F X Leschner presiding and burial in Mountain View cemetery.
