Ceylon Described as Eden of Aromas and Gems
National Geographic notes Ceylon’s allure from fragrance laden temples to tea estates. It details ancient ruins at Anuradhapura, climate, irrigation, and agriculture led by tea and rubber, with Tamil and Sinhalese labor, and gems and pearls traded from Colombo. The piece blends legend with British colonial notes on landscape and economy.
