Professor Shoudy Wins Prizes at Montana State Fair

Prof Shoudy of Montana State Normal College Dillon earned multiple awards at the Helena state fair this week. He received first prizes in pencil drawing and oil painting, second prizes in water color and pen and ink drawing, and second prize in wood carving for his works of art on display.

Roddy Toomey Dies at 28 in Hogan's Alley

Roddy Toomey was found dead at the back door of his father's house in Hogan's Alley last Wednesday morning. The coroner listed heart trouble as the cause. He lived in Dillon 5 with his father for 18 years. The funeral, led by Father Foley, was held at the father's house yesterday afternoon and interment followed at Mountain View cemetery.

Taft and Sherman Club Organized in Dillon

The Taft and Sherman club was organized in Dillon last Tuesday evening with large attendance despite late notice. Frank Eliel led the meeting, A. L. Badcon elected president, M. E. Barry secretary, and A. C. Gruwell treasurer. Attorney H. G. Rodgers delivered a strong speech and signed members as the roll was opened.

Attorney General Rules Stubs Required On Ballots For Constitutional Elections

The Montana Attorney General Albert J. Galen issued an opinion stating that ballots for constitutional amendments and other questions must have a numbered perforated stub. The ruling cites Sec. 545 Revised Codes and instructs clerks to print ballots enabling voters to mark questions with a matching poll list number.

Young Man Pleads Guilty to Burglary

A man brought from Idaho Falls to Dillon admitted using a false name and pled guilty before Justice Hirschman to burglarizing Robt. T. Wing’s room at the Metlen hotel last June. Bound over to district court on a $500 bond he could not meet and will be tried in November. He said he would take his medicine and did not want his family informed of his disgrace.

Baby Found Dead on Poindexter Ranch Near Dillon

The three month old son of Mr and Mrs Frank Conklin was found dead in bed with its mother early Sunday morning. Authorities suppose the child died from croup attack during the night. The infant's remains were buried in Poindexter cemetery Monday.
