Arm Amputation Still Hurts Far Away in Butte
The report recalls J. D. Murphy who lost an arm near Barretts on Oct 21 and was operated on in Dillon. Two men traveled from Butte to learn details and fix a cramped post operative position which allegedly stopped the phantom pain. Everett Paxson, Beaverhead educator since 1878, died at 11:30 am after illness. He left a widow, father, two brothers, a sister and a long career in teaching and public service.
