District court closes busy December term with nine convictions
The December term of district court adjourned after a week noted for criminal docket activity. Nine of eleven cases resulted in convictions. John Murphy received three and a half years for robbery of George Beach. J D Williams alias Jack King drew ten days to penitentiary for petit larceny after robbery threats. George McPherson got five years for burglary after a swift trial following his crime against L H Creighton and his son. Civil cases include water rights near Lima and various debt and land disputes with several judgments and dismissals. The term also covered auctions of beer licenses and other civil matters.
