Beaverhead post of the American Legion sponsored Armistice Day events in Dillon. A morning program at Hartwig theatre featured Prof Rush Jordan on America First and patriotic exercises by the high school band and local singers. An afternoon football tie between Normal Bulldogs and Gooding College ended 6 to 6. An ex-service men's banquet at the Metlen and a public dance at city hall concluded the day.

Local hunters enjoyed a fruitful double holiday with numerous deer accounted for. The Andrus family led the tally, each member claiming a deer from the Rubym section. Postmaster Harry Andrus and Harry Colfer each paused two bucks, while others including Farnum Schuyler Dick Nelson and Alvin M. Jones reported successes.

Twin Bridges Woman Acquitted of Murder
Velma Nyhart of Twin Bridges, formerly of Dillon, was acquitted by a Madison County jury in Virginia City on a Sept. 9 fatal shooting of John Bascle of Sheridan. The jury returned the verdict Friday morning after a three day trial with temporary insanity noted as the cause.

Raymond Garver Called by Death
A former Dillon youth with national renown in education died in Los Angeles after a six day illness. Raymond J. Garver, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Garver, was born October 30, 1901 in Iowa City Iowa. He studied at Montana University the University of California Los Angeles and the University of Chicago earning a doctorate in mathematics and publishing over 50 math papers. He leaves a wife a four year old daughter and a sister Jeannette of Great Falls. Funeral was held last Saturday.

The Ermont mine near Dillon drew a top offer of $700,000 from South African Goldfields Ltd and others. Two Seattle partners, Boles and Casswell, hold the mine now, after D. W. Erwin and J. Corbett of Dillon discovered and staked it about 18 months ago.

CCC Camp Garage Under Construction At Birch Creek
A garage for the Birch Creek CCC camp is being built to hold 16 cars and heated by three stoves. The structure spans 26 feet by 150 feet and aims for completion within a week, expanding winter program machine storage.

A large crowd attended the A. L. A. annual Armistice Day banquet Monday evening at the Andrus dining room. The decorated tables featured red white and blue.
