Big Hole steers bring high price in eastern markets
Chicago Evening Post May 23 reports twelve loads of Montana hay fed steers averaging 1,280 pounds sold at 8 cents per pound. The 230 head, from J. E. Morse's Big Hole ranch north of the Idaho line, were bought by R. F. McGoon of St. Paul and driven sixty days to Bedrock Montana.

Two ranches in Dell formerly owned by the late Clark McNinch were sold at the courthouse. Dr. Bond bought the larger ranch for 17600, H M Fleming paid 3900 for the smaller after bidding, with Johnstone and Downing as competing bidders. The properties are praised for location and drainage.

Montenegrin Herdsman Electrocuted On Power Tower
A Montenegrin sheep herder climbing a high tension tower along the Great Falls to Battle line completed a circuit when he seized a live wire. The 100,000 volt shock killed him. In Dillon, Mr and Mrs Clarence Berry concluded a visit and departed for Salt Lake City after a pleasant stay with Mrs Berry’s sister, Mrs Bert Orr.

Train accident near Butte injures fireman on night run
A passenger train from Butte left at 1 30 a m ran near Feeleys about twenty miles out when three flues blew out and the crown sheet cracked causing scalding steam to pour from the fire box. Fireman Rusty Owens was badly burned and knocked unconscious. A hobo was injured, a train engine assisted, and Owens was moved to Lima for treatment after being assessed by officials and doctors. Passengers faced delays while connections were missed and the event was followed by a local program and church festival in Dillon.

Underground stream found beneath Wells block in Three Forks
Work on the Wells business block was halted after excavators hit an underground stream at eighteen feet. Water surged into the basement forcing installation of a pumping system to keep the space dry. Residents learned of the stream’s existence in the town.

Gas Flow Hits Kalispell Farm Well
A natural gas flow was struck on the 24th at the Michael Wagner farm eight miles southeast of Kalispell by W H O Connell during a boring operation. The well reached 350 feet with water near the surface and gas appeared by odor and sound, igniting to produce a blue flame six to eight feet high.

The annual field day at the Normal campus drew a large crowd and featured drills by training school pupils and Normal students. Senior class led by Miss Josephine Erwin won the silver cup and she earned the gold medal.
