The Montana trapshooting meet at the fair grounds honored J W Renfro with a 99 of 100 in singles and 47 of 50 in doubles tying McMahon of Butte for top in singles and winning doubles. N Birrer of Dell and Tolson Sheridan tied for third with 94. 80 attended the banquet at Andrus hotel with talks from club reps and Ted Renfro on European shoots.

Old-Time Railroad Man Visits in City
S Mathewson, once with the early surveying party of the region in the 1890s, visited Dillon and shared railroad memories. He noted the shift from narrow gauge to standard, and recalled a winter reconnaissance through Blacktail toward Yellowstone Park. Since then he has worked on lines from Butte to Buenos Aires and this was his first Dillon visit in about 40 years.

Exposure Fatal for Jay L. Holtz After Two-Week Search
Jay L. Holtz, a longtime Dillon resident and city water commissioner, found dead after a May 17 disappearance. Exhaustion from a severe storm in the Big Hole basin and exposure were cited. body located two miles south of the Peterson ranch by ranch rider Joe Jones and brought to Dillon. Survived by widow Esta, children Tommy and others in Iowa. Holtz was born March 29, 1884 in Riverside, Iowa and active in local churches and organizations.

Esteemed Dillon Matron Ward Dies After Long Illness
Mrs Elizabeth Ward of Dillon died at home on South Atlantic Street after a long illness. Born October 27 1866 in Trenton Tennessee she moved to Montana in 1889 and taught at Bedrock. She married Joseph Patrick Ward in 1892 and survived by daughter Mrs Ray Carter of Billings a grandson Warren Sheppard and brother Emerson Hill with son Ethridge deceased. Funeral held at St Rose Catholic Church with mass by Rev F X Lechner. Interment Mountain View Cemetery.

Stage talent of an unusual order was portrayed Thursday by members of the cast of The Roose Hangs High a senior class play presented before a large audience in the gym. The production reflected careful training under director Miss Violet Eastman. G. & P. 10 Introduce Daily Armstead Salmon Rail Service
G and P 10 will inaugurate daily mail and express train service between Armstead and Salmon with a gas electric car for 46 passengers. The schedule excludes Sunday and connects with Oregon Short Line north and south trains. The new car, 60 feet long, will run each morning from Salmon to Armstead and back, while the steam Gilmore & Pittsburg train continues. The car features two 220 horsepower traction motors, Westinghouse brakes, and is electrically lighted and heated.

May Fete Queen Crowned At Normal College Pageant
Miss Jane Redpath of Coburg was crowned queen of the annual May fete at the Normal college campus in a pageant of the nations. Miss Alberta Shepherd of Great Falls was chosen attendant. Senior attendants included Elizabeth Hopkins Butte Eileen Richardson Lima and Bonnie Bovee Great Falls. Junior attendants were Martha Frost Simms Ruth Erickson Great Falls and Grace Renning Sand Coulee. Crown bearer Earl Dewey Landing led the ceremony directed by Constance Bregan under the Women’s Athletic association leadership with Irene Hilden as general manager.
