M. E. Barrys Dillon Independent baseball opened the season with a 22 to 0 whitewash of the Modern Woodmen from Butte on the new fairgrounds diamond. Dillon dominated from the start as pitcher Kirkstahler received little support and the stand was filled despite gusty winds and dust. E L Hall long active in Dillon business and Beaverhead mining has died at his son F E Hall’s Spring Lake Beach New Jersey home on May 15 He was born December 6 1849 in Lake Beach New Jersey and came to Montana in 1896 He led Coast Gold Dredging and Montana Gold Dredging operations and later joined Graeter Grocery He also led the Dillon Argenta Mining company at Argenta and leaves two sons and a daughter.

John H. Thompson of Wisdom dies at Murray hospital in Butte after an 85 mile auto ride to treat an abscess in his throat. With his brother James and father George present, Dr. Kistler operated but Thompson died on the operating table. The Strowbridge auto broke down at Beargulch delaying help.

Fred Gill Cleared in Deweys Assault Case
Justice of the Peace Hirschman dismissed the case after witnesses challenged the prosecution's evidence. Mrs. Dora Churchill accused Fred Gill, known as Fred Woods, of assaulting her near Deweys on May 9.
