Stocks and whippings in early Harpersfield and Delaware county
In Harmersfield and Delaware county early posts of stocks and a whipping post were built. A man named Turner was flogged for stealing flour, then jailed in stocks before fifty lashes and departure from the county. A veteran seen later is helped by a stranger who recalls Charles City Cross Roads.
