Mrs J Ai Jones and her daughter Miss Vera left Tuesday for California to visit Mrs Jones sister. They expect to be away about a year. Eugene White of the Big Hole basin filed a deed transferring 160 acres in the basin to Edmond Englesfoird of Jackson for 500 dollars. Miss Bertha Huntsman returned from TownsendMont where she helped at a teachers institute and enjoyed the stay. Rev J L Johnson of Anaconda will lead Norwegian Lutheran services with communion in the Episcopal church on Sunday May 10 at 3 pm meeting at 2 30 pm.
A man calling himself J. B. Murphy and two companions beat the town to a keg of beer, drank it above Dillon, then Murphy returned to town and was jailed by Chief Stone. He pled guilty to vagrancy and being drunk before Police Judge Cushing and was fined twenty dollars while the others fled.
Clerk and Recorder John B. Baker returned from Butte after being subpoenaed to testify in a Justice of the Peace court case against Selim Rajji an Assyrian accused of registering in Beaverhead and Silver Bow counties. He also visited Anaconda to inspect the smelters and attended a Royal Arch Masons exaltation.
