Death of Well Known Dillon Man Henry Hainds
Henry Hainds a Dillon resident and former athlete died Saturday at his home from infantile paralysis. Born October 15, 1886 in Red Rock he lived most of his life in Dillon and worked as a blacksmith and machinist. He leaves his parents four sisters and was interred at Mountain View cemetery after services at the Odd Fellows hall.

Dillon to Get Large Elevator Near Creamery Site
The Inter-Mountain Milling and Elevator company plans a sixty thousand bushel capacity elevator on the old creamery site in Dillon. G C Rigby has reviewed property and costs, with deeds to be drawn soon. A second elevator will be built at Bond, both under same management, linking to Short Line tracks for fall operations benefiting local ranchers and grain growers.

Dillon Volunteer Fire Department Meets in Montana Auto Garage
The Dillon volunteer fire department held its regular meeting at the Montana Auto Garage. Chief Frank Birrer led the session with thirteen members present. Secretary Wheat read and approved the minutes, and bylaws binding and printing were discussed. The chief heads the committee to prepare one hundred leather bound copies, but leather binding was deemed too costly and the group approved the existing binding. A new member application from John B. Mayfield was read.

New York Restaurateur to Open Dillon Eatery This May
Emil Leistikow arrives in Dillon to open a first class restaurant in the former J. Robert Morton building. He brings a New York cook and waiters and plans European style service with a May 24 opening. Leistikow is brother in law of Anton Jackson of this city, who facilitated the move.

Oats Stolen From Santa Ana Firms Recovered In Dillon
The oats stolen from the D. I. Co. and Montana Mercantile Co. at Santa Ana were recovered and money paid into the railroad treasury for owners in Dillon. The operator Wilson, who fled with bills of lading and forgery, is not yet found, but payment to the firms will proceed. Ranchers Zene Bucy Monroe Bucy and Wm. H. Holmes of Centennial valley visited Dillon earlier in the week.

Last Meeting of Dillon City Council Votes for Meter System
The old Dillon council met at the courthouse with Hainds and Paul leaving office and McCaleb and Anderson joining. The sinking fund interest was moved to the water fund to cover deficits. Neptune meter company advocate Allen Nye urged meters in all buildings, claiming savings for residents and the city. Nye argued flat rates overcharge many and that meters would curb waste and fix leaky plumbing, with adjournment in honor of alderman Hainds son.
