Dillon captured a full share of state handball titles at last week’s Butte tournament. Junior singles winner Bill Bates, 16, led the city’s success with top honors while George Melton and Bates were runners up in the senior division. The duo H Brundage Jr and Bill Boone took junior doubles, with Dillon and Melton elected Montana Handball president and helped secure the next meet at the Normal college courts.

Edinger, Beaverhead High School basketball alumnus and University of Washington athlete, is son of George and Mrs. Edinger and works with Lehigh Portland Cement in Fort Wayne. Defendants Gray and Barnhill Appeal Trap Beavers Case
William Gray and Thomas Barnhill, found guilty in justice court of trapping beaver illegally, served notice of appeal to the district court Wednesday evening. The jury had recommended a $250 fine and 60 days in county jail, with sentence set for Wednesday evening by Judge L. P. Phillips. Attorneys J. E. Kelly and John Collins represent Gray and Barnhill. defendants released on new $500 bonds each.

Beaverhead post of the American Legion reports donation of an old-time stage coach by A. L. Anderson. Golf Links Undergo Major Club Improvement
An enthusiastic Dillon Country Club crowd last Sunday completed an early year improvement plan. Volunteers with rakes shovels and paint brushes refreshed the course removing rocks debris from No 6 and No 2 fairways while a roller smoothed the ground. A noon lunch was provided by club women and matches followed as Dillon aims for one of the finest nine hole courses in Montana with tournaments planned for spring and summer.
