Child Skeleton Found Near Lima In Probable Transport Case
Discovery of a partially mummified child’s skeleton on an ash heap near Lima stirred county officials. Investigators believe the body, possibly a Chinese or Indian child who died in Salmon, was carried by an Idaho man last summer and dumped rather than buried. Residents recall an Idaho man driving into Dillon with a partial skeleton, found during prospecting near Leagore, heading south.

Spring Storms Bring Abundant Water Across Montana
Montana ranchers welcome wet snows that soaked the state and filled creeks and water holes. Jay G. Diamond of Helena says the heavy wet snow will sink into soil and benefit the range, promising more moisture for the growing season. Beaverhead county reports several days of steady snowfall with deep piles and Dillon logged seven inches, yielding .35 inch precipitation and icy streets after a 15 degree above zero night.

Rife Addition Seeks Sanitary Sewer to Aid Local Residents
Residents of the Rife addition petitioned the city council for a sanitary sewer. The council directed the city engineer to map the route and estimate cost and to contact benefiting property owners. An engineer’s report is hoped by the next council meeting on April 7 when written protests will be received.

Leadership School in Religion Opens at Dillon
The Dillon Ministerial Association launches a Leadership Training School. Sessions run Mondays and Wednesdays for three weeks from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in four concurrent classes. Registration is fifty cents with textbooks up to one dollar. Credit cards issued on completion.

Pearl I. Smith Dies in Auto Crash and Civic Leader
Pearl I. Smith a Dillon abstractor and former Beaverhead county state senator died Sunday at Barrett hospital after critical injuries from a car collision near Brown's bridge. The inquest found Smith crushed inside his car caused by Tony Panion of Butte. Panion deemed responsible. Smith served 1924 to 1928 as state senator and was active in civic groups, mining interests, and local organizations.
