Butte Art Center Director Speaks to Rotarians on Federal Projects
Frank L. Stevens, director of the Butte art center, told Rotarians that the federal art project movement can furnish communities with traveling exhibits and provide space and labor for local exhibitions. The center, housed in the school administration building, features Montana artists and traveling collections from across the country, with 175 Montana artists represented to date. Dr. W. H. Stephan discussed cancer control, X ray treatments, and early diagnosis efforts led by the Women’s Field Army for the American Society for the Control of Cancer. James Albertson and Don Mulkey attended Dillon. Mulkey noted a Bobcat band concert with the high school band forthcoming.

CCC Seeks 625 Youth Enrollees Across Montana
The Civilian Conservation Corps plans to enroll 625 young men in Montana starting April 11. Zone six including Beaverhead, Deer Lodge, Granite, Madison, Powell, and Silver Bow counties is allotted 78 enrollees. Applicants aged 17 to 23 should contact local county departments of public welfare as the selecting agencies.

The twentieth anniversary of the American Legion was celebrated at the local post with a ceremony and more than 60 ex service men in attendance. District Commander Bion Hall of Butte spoke, noting the need to complete the Legion’s work, and post head Alvin M. Jones received a post commander's badge. George M. Gosman accepted a banner from Raymond P. Jones, and visiting legionnaires from Butte and elsewhere attended the event.

A joint concert tomorrow at 10 30 am in the Normal college gym will feature the Montana State college concert band of 46 pieces and eight soloists directed by Lou Howard and the Beaverhead county high school band of 45 pieces directed by L A Gregory. Proceeds fund high school band equipment as the Bobcat band donates its services. Soloists include Eugene Lieberg and others. Gregory marks silver jubilee as Dillon band director.

Beav erhead Valley Rancher J Schuster Dies at 62
John Schuster a Beaverhead county rancher native of Austria died after a short illness at Barrett hospital. He lived about 80 years in the county and operated a small farm north of Dillon on the Twin Bridges road. Survived by three daughters Mrs Nick Mrs Harper Mrs Malley all of Butte a son John and several nieces nephews and grandchildren. Funeral Friday at 10 am from St Rose church with Rev F X Lechner. burial Holy Cross cemetery Butte. Rosary Thursday at Brundage chapel at 8 pm.

City officials announce a general caucus on Thursday night March 29 at the city hall auditorium to nominate a full slate of eleven officers including mayor city treasurer police judge and eight councilmen.
