Stock Inspector D V Irwin and Sheriff W C Orr received a March 20 1938 order from the Montana Livestock Commission detailing new rules for horse shipments. Bills of sale must accompany shipments at inspection and may be forwarded to the state office within five days with affidavits from sellers and corroboration by two stockmen.

Dillon Boy Scouts Board Of Review Advances Several Scouts
Advancement and merit badges were favorably recommended at the regular board of review at the courthouse. Roy Forrester and Jack Selway passed from first class to Star Scout, May earned first class, James Redburn moved from Star to Life, and James Kelly will receive consideration at a special meeting. Stolen Car Recovered by Local Police Force
A Chevrolet coupe registered to J. L. Sayles of Park City was reclaimed by the sheriff's office after being stolen from Laurel during the night of March 14 15. The car had a punctured tire and two robes were missing. The owner arrived Monday to reclaim the vehicle.

Girls Band Gives Enjoyable Concert at High School Gym
The school girls band directed by L A Gregory performed five numbers and the girls orchestra repeated the program with a cello solo by Lulu Belle Gilman and a violin trio by Leone Cashmore Betty Hall and Lucille Nettik. The Dillon city caucus drew a large crowd as W Emerick won unanimous nomination for mayor. Incumbent H L McCaleb declined floor nomination. Police magistrate nominees were A C Gruwell and George Opp with tallies 76 to 67 first, 90 to 78 second. Treasurer nominee C Mccfadden led with 1st ballot , Frank Bulger 51, W I Cashmore 15. Mrs Sarah Jane Yearian longtime Dillon resident died March 8 in Miami Florida after a lingering illness. She was 91 last September 27 and had moved to Florida about eight years ago with her husband the late Zepeniah Yearian and daughter Cora Rathbone. Survived by son K M Yeaman of Orland California five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral held at Riverside Baptist church Miami with burial at Woodlawn cemetery beside her husband. She was active in Three Score and Penelab of Miami and the Department church and known to many across Dillon and other places she lived.

Died at Lima longtime resident Margaret J. Brandenburg
Mrs. Margaret J. Brandenburg of Lima died at her home last Friday after a lingering illness. Born February 3, 1864 in Lewistown Pennsylvania she came west with her husband around 1885 and lived near Dell before ranching. Survived by her husband and sister Mrs. Sarah Van Houtin of Lima. Funeral services were held Sunday in Lima with interment in the local cemetery.
