Mrs Lillian E Hanson Culver longtime Centen nial valley rancher and pioneer died Friday after brief illness at her ranch home Born August 21 1850 in Kossuth Iowa she helped open Dillon millinery and the first Anaconda shop She moved to Centennial valley in 1880s and lived near Lakeview fifty years Survived by son Fred I Hanson three grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral held Tuesday at Brundage chapel with Rev H N Tragitt interment Mountain View cemetery She was a DAR member and long time Rebekah.

At St James guild hall on Monday night the Kabitzers held a lead in the latest tabulations. Webster and Gosman topped the east west division while Roberts and Backus led the north south. One more session remains in the series.

Lima pair wed quietly in Dillon vows

Miss Margaret Parks and Ira Mitchell of Lima were quietly married last Monday afternoon by a local justice. They will live at Barnes apartments in Dillon. Meanwhile Taylor installed new ornamental chandelier lights at Eliel's boosting lighting and attracting shoppers.

Two in Hospital After Ranch Bunkhouse Fight

Two men were hospitalized after a Friday night fight at the E. B. Roe ranch bunkhouse in Bedrock. Robert McDaniels allegedly stabbed and cut by Frank Triplet, then beat Triplet. both men remained patients at Barrett hospital. No formal charges yet. Sheriff’s notes mention Triplet drawing a gun on Jack Simmons before being disarmed by Jack Coleman.

Glee Club Concert Friday Evening At College Auditorium

The M S N C men's glee club will present a 1936 music program Friday evening March 20 in the college auditorium. Jack Gaines designed the unusual scenery and Henry Edwards handled lighting for the production. An interior church scene for the negro spirituals and Russian and Oriental numbers will feature enhanced scenery and atmosphere.

Dillon Gun Club Opens Season With First Shoot

Dillon Gun Club held its season opener amid high winds that distorted targets. Les Smith led with 50 straight, followed by Dr. Free 48, Hap Apgar 47, H. M. Brundage 47, Roy Forrester 45, and Herman Peterson 45 among 50 targets.

Firemen’s card to stage at city hall Saturday night

The second of a series of cregiting cards sponsored by the firemen will be staged at city hall Saturday night. The puff and pant boys for the show include Kiem Kusicva and Mickey McGuire for the main event with Rudy Skaarda facing Pat Meehan and Whisker Adams opposing Horace Barber in the opener. Daughters Born in Barrett Hospital and Sheridan

Mrs Jules Wenger of Jackson and Mr and Mrs Clarence Baril of Sheridan announce the births of daughters. The Baril baby, formerly Joyce Williams of this city, was born at Barrett hospital on Sunday and the other child arrived Monday at Barrett hospital. Federal Building Nears Completion This Spring

The new two story Federal Building at Idaho and Sabree streets advances toward completion. It houses the Post Office General Delivery stamp parcel post and money order services with 654 lock boxes and a large mail sorting work room. The project cost 90000 dollars with site purchase of 7500 dollars.

P T A Meeting Highlights Activities and Plans

The regular P T A meeting at the training school discussed Dr Dunlaps glasses aid from charity funds, a Western district gathering in Helena April 2 and 3 with national secretary Mrs Roe and Montana president Mrs Beers in attendance, and a nominating committee. Officers will be elected at the April meeting. The Grade Basketball tournament is sponsored with games March 21 at the high school gym. Guests dine in the training school gym supervised by Miss Ottillie Brauer, who spoke on Geography as a Basis on Worlds Citizenship.

Federal courthouse contract awarded to Mead and Mount

On August 12 1935 the Mead and Mount company of Denver won the general contract for the project with a 250 day limit. Earthquakes necessitated a plan modification likely delaying completion a few weeks and interior items like furniture will raise costs. The Treasury Department’s Public Works Branch designed the building noted for architectural beauty and practical use.

Future Farmers to Stage Pest Drive

Beaverhead Chapter of Future Farmers of America plans a pest eradication drive. Bob Harrison reports contestant totals and urges all members to join. Prizes include a .22 rifle, two hunting knives, and a flashlight on display at McCaleb’s window. Registration closes March 15 with listed officials.

Dillon Rotary members led by Charles Henry revisit school days in an intelligence test conducted by Professors J Ford McBain and Rush Jordan. The program featured true or false, multiple choice, completion and matching questions as Dr R E Albright announced a basketball honors event for next week. Dr Albright outlined France and Germany tensions amid growing German strength and France's ally gaps as a peace obstacle.

Charles Dutcher Dies Suddenly at 69 on Ranch North of Town

Charles Dutcher, aged 69, died suddenly in his cabin at the William Herman ranch north of town Friday. A resident for about 80 years he worked as a herder on several county ranches. Funeral held at 2 oclock Saturday afternoon from Brundage chapel.

Rouse led Normal with 16 points as the Bulldogs beat Butte Mining 44 to 25 on a neutral floor in Anaconda to retain the conference title. McGinley scored 14. half time stood 16 to 4.

National Business and Professional Women Week Observed in Dillon

The Dillon Business and Professional Women’s club marked National Business Women’s Week with a church service at the Presbyterian church led by Rev. H. J. Schmidt. Activities included window decorating under Dora Smith, a dinner at Armstead with Violet Eastman speaking on women’s status, a public card party at Mrs. Smith’s home, and a tea and musicale at Claudia Fuast’s home to conclude the series.
