Sugar beet industry promoted at Dillon meeting

Beaverhead valley ranchers were urged to grow sugar beets after Lewis Penwell of Montana praised the crop’s benefits and outlined plans to split Birchdale Stock Farm into 40 acre tracts. A March 21 court house meeting at 2 30 PM was called to organize rancher participation and shipments to Idaho Falls factory.

St Paul March 7 The democratic state committee of Minnesota endorsed Governor Johnson for the presidential nomination after a bitter fight. The Johnson resolution passed 68 to 23 following two test votes by Bryan adherents, who were defeated on both.

Mission to beheld by Dubuque Apostles in Dillon

The Fathers of the Dubuque Apostolate will begin a mission in Dillon on Sunday March 29 and an additional Lima date will be announced later. Crimin als Plague Dillon Amid Repeated Thefts

Local reports describe a wave of petty robberies in and around Dillon over recent weeks. Clothes lines fuel and livestock thefts occur with no arrests, suggesting a larger network of buyers.
