Regular reports from Beaverhead County describe heavy snowfalls of six to eight inches, revival meetings at the M E church led by Rev. Smith and Rev. Cattermole, and expected management changes at Oregon Short Line and Utah & Northern railroads. Local incidents include John Murphy under peddling license arrest, McPhee and Kiser touring troupe, and various town notes from Wisdom and surrounding areas.
Regular term of the Fifth Judicial District began March 8 1897 with Judge M H Park er presiding. Bonds of county commissioners O M Best Geo Galbreath and Henry Thompson approved. Numerous civil cases set for hearing March 17 and 19. jurors drawn for March term. Local notes report court actions, bank report, and social events in Dillon and nearby towns.
