Petersen Dillon wins trapshooters challenge cup in Kansas City
At the interstate trapshoot in Kansas City on Wednesday Herman Peterson Dillon shooter won the challenge cup with a 23 to defeat leading shots. He also scored 89 in the Class B shoot to tie for fourth place. Ted Renfro and Otto Schulz are said to be attending the Kansas school.

Local amateur boxing card staged at Dart's Hall
Fight fans enjoyed a Saturday night boxing card at Dart's Hall to benefit the local athletic club. Amateurs from Anaconda Butte Birch Creek CCC and Dillon fought in fast bouts with Verne Hoffline of Anaconda defeating Jack McLenegan of Butte in the headliner. The semi windup saw Cowboy Swetish and Milt Bourasso draw, while Eno Valentino of Anaconda stopped Kid Ozinski in one round. Curly Reese and Topo Bittrick dueled to a draw for Birch Creek, and Roy Osborne of Dillon broke even with a g near draw.

Kasper Hauser prominent retired ranchman of Madison district died at his Thomson avenue home after a lingering illness. Born in Germany in 1867 he came to the United States about 40 years ago and ranched in Madison county for 17 years. He retired in 1930 and moved to Dillon. Survived by widow Mary Hauser a daughter Mrs Margaret Boyle of Butte a son John of Stockton Calif and several grandchildren. Funeral Monday at St Ree Catholic church with high mass by Rev F X Lechner. Interment Mountain View Cemetery.

British Company to Develop Groundhog Mine at Argenta

A new mill of the latest design will boost output to a custom size plant capable of handling all Argenta ore. Jones, a mining engineer, will remain with the property in an official role. Walter Carlson 658, a prominent ranchman from the northern valley, died at his ranch after nearly a year of illness. Born in Copenhagen on July 28, 1878, he came to America at 21, settled in Dillon in 1899, and later owned a four mile north ranch. Survived by wife Mary, daughters Mrs. Carl Benson of Butte and Mrs. Louis Hansen of Alder, and son Holgar Carlson. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran church with Rev. A W Nelson officiating.

Death Calls David Davies Aged 81 In Salmon
David Davies aged 81 died at a local hospital on Thursday February 13 after several weeks illness. A longtime Salmon resident from Dillon Montana, he worked as a watchman at the gas tanks on North St Charles street and earlier was a machinist. Born in Welchpool England, his only known survivor is a Welchpool niece. Funeral services were held Friday at Doebler funeral parlors with Rev J A Howard officiating. Interment followed in Salmon cemetery.
