Official figures from county clerk John Baker show Beaverhead registration for the upcoming July primary at 3,305, up from 3,069 in 1928, with all 24 precincts reporting gains. The notice lists each precinct and its current electors versus 1928 totals.
Men members of the Dillon County club began their annual spring tournament with preliminary and elimination rounds. Final rounds are delayed. championship flight players include Stephan, Woodburn, McFarland, Gilbert, Jones, Harding, Hartwig, Brundage. invitational meet in Anaconda next Sunday may shift schedule.
The Dillon nine held the American-Canadian Clowns to a 6-3 loss after leading until the seventh inning. Several Clowns are former big league players. Dillon also defeated Lima 24-16 last Sunday with most regulars absent.
Announcements record the June 19 marriage in Salt Lake City of Eleanor Smith daughter of Mr and Mrs E W Smith Grant to Rudolph Alfred Salstrand.
Mr and Mrs Perry with their French son and Miss Ruby are mentioned. Stevens left Monday morning for Plains to visit relatives.

One of the longest flat cars ever placed on a Dillon siding was used Tuesday to transport two 60 foot long girders weighing about nine and a half tons each. Con tractor Carl Mast moved the beams to the First National Bank building site on a specially constructed track.
Dillon Rotary Club Monday luncheon showcased two piano selections by Mrs. Mary Hester Bond, steel guitar by James Fay with Louis Thompson, and Charles Lloyd with a group of pieces. President S. E. Davis returned from travel, attendance up about 20 percent, next meeting moved to Tuesday due to Christie Bros circus. Visitors included C. W. Hardy, B. N. Stevenson, and George Clemow.
Senator J. W. Schnitzler of Froid Montana national committeeman visited Dillon for a brief Friday evening meeting with local Republican leaders. He left Saturday with Lieutenant Governor Hazel baker and O. A. Bergeson to tour the Big Hole basin. Known for farming in the northeast and flying his own plane, he recently toured Germany aboard the Graf Zeppelin.
Roy Forrester Jr and his father a famed fisher join in a big hole river contest as young Roy lands 11 trout including a 3½ pounder dressed. The haul enters the Hughes and McCaleb fishing contest and stands as a notable family feat.
Arrangements are complete for a joint meeting of Beaverhead and Lemhi county mining associations next Sunday at Sacajawea park to plan the Montana Idaho picnic on August 17.
Miss Norah Connelley the county treasurer reminds taxpayers that personal taxes are due within 30 days of mailing the tax notice and urges prompt payment to avoid penalties for delinquency.
A marriage license was issued Tuesday in Butte to Charles Snodgrass and Irene G Posey, both residents of Butte.
Beaverhead county mining resources attract state fair board interest for a Mineral Exhibit at the Montana Fair August 18 to 23. Specimens of precious metals gems and non metals are welcome with delivery to Helena by July 15. Exhibitors may have items returned if listed for return. Contact George B. One of the longest road contracts projected in Beaverhead county will be let at the state highway commission meeting on July 16. Sixteen miles of grading on the highway from Daly's spur to two miles south of Bedrock will be contracted, extending the road from Dillon south about 28 miles and continuing the federal and state highway from Butte south about 90 miles. Most right of way has been secured and work will start promptly after the award.
Dr. Sheldon I. Davis, president of the Montana State Normal college, Mrs. Davis and their children return to Dillon after nine months away. The sabbatical year included extensive travel through the United States and Canada visiting many schools and colleges.
A Saturday evening crash north of town sent Charles Worth to Barrett hospital with severe cuts and bruises. The small bug driven by Clark Raegel collided with a sedan driven by Joseph Gurtison of the Butte post office. The bug was badly smashed. the sedan was damaged. Raegel was with two boys and three girls in the smaller car. others were uninjured.
The biggest catch of the season so far was made by H. M. Brundage Friday afternoon in the Big Hole. He landed an eight pound Rainbow that will be entered in the Hughes and McCaleb fishing contest. Five other Rainbows weighing 2 to 3 pounds were caught by Heizie and Jud Brundage and displayed at the Brundage pool hall.
A Montana Taxpayer's association error misstated Beaverhead's census figures for 1920 and 1930. The corrected numbers show a loss rather than a gain, with 1920 at 7 447 and 1930 at 6 637, not the previously published 6 687.
Beaverhead Mining association members map districts in the county claiming untouched placer grounds with ancient river channels, suggesting new sites for prospectors. Reports cite nuggets found recently in Bon Accord and earlier finds along old Beaverhead river courses, with maps and claim blanks available from Roy Herndon and William Logan.
R. F. Ramsey, a mechanic on the rock crusher north of town, sustained severe facial injuries and a jaw fracture. He was unconscious after the incident and regained consciousness in Barrett hospital Thursday evening, with the cause under investigation. He later visited Dr. Stephan for examination.
Governor J. E. Erickson will participate in a nationwide radio hookup from Salt Lake City next Monday night between 8 30 and 9 30 CDT. Governors from several states will discuss the twenty second national conference of governors and its activities.
Wool buyers from eastern firms set Dillon as headquarters to negotiate Beaverhead wool. Nearly 100000 fleeces traded last week at 28 to 25 cents with only select purchases this week at 22 1/2 cents on cooperative lots. Notable buyers include George Thurmond, Charles Burden, Gordon McKee, Howard Candland, Harry Ballard, and R E Foster among others. The shearing season ends early due to favorable weather.
Howard Worcester aged about 52 died last Saturday morning in Wisdom after a spotted fever illness believed caused by a tick bite. He had recently returned from Bitterroot valley and worked as a ranch hand in Big Hole for about 14 years. Survived by wife and three children, two of them twins six years old. His mother and a brother live in San Diego. Funeral held Brundage chapel Tuesday afternoon with burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
A new wider and heavier concrete bridge across the Union ditch near the Normal college opened to traffic last Saturday. It replaces the old wooden bridge, is well built, and enhances the town section it serves.
