James Knapp Dies From Mine Accident At Butte
James G. Knapp longtime Argenta resident died at his Butte home last Sunday from burns suffered while working at the Anaconda mine after contact with a charged wire. He was 48 and survived by his widow Lillian, a daughter in Butte and a son in Argenta, plus five sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held in Argenta with pallbearers named Homer Pilon, Charles Quick, Charles Fox, George Lenox, Archie Pilon and Harris Opp.

Drowned in Ruby River Kingrey 78 near Alder
H Kingrey a widower aged 78 living above Ruby drowned in the Ruby river last Monday. He was seen near Pete Anderson place about 4 PM and not seen again. A search recovered his body downstream after his team and wagon were found washed into the brush.

Crosby Sentenced for Forgery in District Court
J. M. Crosby received a sentence of one to two years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty to forgery in district court. Judge H G Rodgers urged the defendant to reform and face the consequences. Dillon Coroner Holds Inquest in Anaconda
Coroner James Phillips conducted an inquest in Anaconda into the deaths of Charles Ferguson and Mrs Tracy Trueman, victims of the Wise River flood on June 14 1927. The verdict stated both died from flood waters coming down the West Fork of the Wise River in Beaverhead County. Mrs Trueman's funeral was at the Christian church in Anaconda, with interment at Hill Cemetery.

A state engineer and Montana irrigation commission study ranks Beaverhead as having the most irrigated land, at 340 000 acres, ahead of Yellowstone and Madison. Gallatin, though taxed on the most irrigated acres, shows different values per acre than Yellowstone.
