Summer Session Opens With Record Enrollment at Montana State Normal
The Montana State Normal College summer session opened Tuesday with the largest enrollment since the college began. Initial figures show up to 300 students, possibly rising to 400 as other schools close. Dormitory space is full, overflow moved to private homes, and the Training School adjunct started Monday with solid attendance. Morning lessons only, kindergarten activities began Wednesday.

Washington June 17. Senator Reed of Missouri excoriated the proposed League of Nations as a vast fake in a lively exchange with Senator Hitchcock of Nebraska. Helena Tourists Attend Luncheon Before Yellowstone Trail Ride
A caravan of 86 Helena tourists in three large touring cars stopped in Dillon for lunch, joined by a Great Falls car of five. Mayor Monroe presided as George W. Ramsay urged road improvements Melrose to Monida and reported statewide highway work. The group, en route to a Salt Lake good roads meeting, included several ladies and attracted attention with its 12 passenger cars.

West Furnishes More Than Half of Tonnage
Washington June 16 The Railway Administration reports that mines and oil wells supply 55.75 of total railway tonnage. Ore and mineral products account for 25 of the remainder. In 1910 Bureau of Mines Geological Survey and Agriculture appropriations totaled about 21.0 million dollars. In 1919 combined Bureau of Mines Geological Survey 4.58 million while Agriculture stood at 72.0 million. Sixty seven percent of raw metal and coal production costs go to labor. The American Mining Congress seeks Congress support for essential metals and minerals. Legislation already pending aims to protect these substances.

Excavator Moves After Ditch Crew Finishes Local Work
