Campfire Girls to Spend Week at Elkhorn Springs
More than 200 county girls age 11 and older will spend a week at Elkhorn springs starting next Monday. Funds from local property owners cover transportation housing food and instruction with chaperones and a welcoming Grasshopper Big Hole valley picnic planned for Thursday June 10.

Jeff Cox and William Fulwood toured from Blaine. Cox bought a new Chevrolet coach from a Montana Auto garage.

Girls from Elkhorn Springs depart Monday June 7 at 9 30 to 10 00 from the Andrus hotel returning the following Sunday afternoon. The 81 pupils of the graduating class of 1926 were honored at a commencement last Monday at the training school. Prof. R. E. Albright delivered the address and diplomas were conferred by Principal Linden McCullough. The event featured the L. A. Gregory Orchestra, prayers by Rev. Ernest Loft, and selections by the Girls' Glee Club.

Promising Outlook for Cattle in Beaverhead County
James Dodd reports shipping 138 cars of beef steers described as the last of 15 000, with Beaverhead county producing many head of winter fed beef. Forage feeders plan to hold some cattle, while experts predict beef prices will rise next fall and won’t be controlled by two packing firms.

Old-Time Prospector Willman Dies After Long Illness
John Willman a well known mining man of the Milhorn district died at Barrett hospital after several weeks illness. He lived alone in Beaverhead county for over 40 years and was born in Liverpool Ohio 85 years ago. Funeral services were held at St Rose Catholic church and burial followed at Mountain View cemetery. He is survived by relatives in Ohio and other eastern states. Richland county reports on Sidney Fairview road and Montana wheat acreage shows a potential bumper crop.

Historic bull pen torn down in Salmon jail area
The Salmon city crew led by A C Ludwig Ed Johnson and Tull Dunlap demolished the old bull pen surrounding the jail built in 1880. The lumber pen and gallows had historical ties including the Tim Connor murder execution in the 1880s. George B Conway, mining man from Hecla district, returned to Helena after visiting Dillon.

Double Holiday Draws Hundreds of Anglers
Beaverhead county became a fishing and camping hub as over a thousand cars from Butte Anaconda and other towns visited the Big Hole Beaverhead and Madison rivers. Anglers reported well filled bags and roads in good condition for the season with low water and plenty of fish drawing crowds.
