Escapes Unscathed After Roll Down Hill
Nick Davis aged 82, a well known community resident, escaped injury after rolling about 300 feet down Sunlight mountain in McCarthy district. With C. M. Roberts and son Jess, he lost his hold and slid through rocks and brush before being stopped by Roberts just before a thousand foot cliff. Aside from scratches he was unhurt.

Regional forest service data show a substantial rise in both volume and value of timber sold to commercial operators in the quarter ending June 30. The body of Ruth Millan Sanborn aged 28 was shipped from Brundage funeral home to Medford Oregon for interment. She died suddenly at her Twin Bridges home last Saturday evening from a heart attack likely caused by prolonged sun exposure after noon. Her husband Byron Sanders a former Beaverhead County High School instructor and recent Twin Bridges garage manager, survives with two young children.

Lone Bandit Strikes Armstead in Gunpoint Robbery
A bandit robbed the Jim Campbell place at Armstead on a Wednesday night, taking about $60 at gunpoint. Mrs. Campbell and three ranch hands were ordered to the corner while the thief escaped in a speeding car toward Horse Prairie.
