Dillon Big Hole telephone line nearing use

Linemen from Butte arrived in Dillon this week to string the Dillon Big Hole telephone line led by F A Hazelbaker. Wires will be mounted on twenty five foot poles and instruments shipped from Chicago are expected to be installed within a week. The Anaconda to basin line progresses slowly by comparison.

Lima Defeats Dillon 14 to 4 in Base Ball Match

Lima's ball team visited Dillon and dominated the game from the third inning, finishing 14 to 4. Umpires Jake Fishburn and Ed Farnsworth judged fairly. A return game is set for Sunday at Lima grounds.

Death of an Esteemed Lady Mary E Rice Dies at Barretts Home

Mrs. Mary E Wyman Rice of Beaverhead county Montana died Tuesday at her daughter’s home near Barretts after a ten year stomach illness. Born December 12 1837 in Randolph Vermont she married Loomis Rice in 1865 and lived in Wisconsin California Nebraska before settling in Montana in 1893. Survived by husband one daughter Mrs John W Ewing one son M D Rice six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral held Wednesday at the Presbyterian church with Rev A B Martin. interment Mountain View cemetery.
