This week Dillon shipped the last of the 1905 wool clip totaling 281171.21 dollars, exceeding last year by 65101.4 dollars. Dillon Boys to Tourney At Helena Rife Meet

Dillon boys will travel to the Helena rifle tournament with ten militia marksmen. The top two from each team will advance to Seagirt New Jersey for another competition, with the national government covering expenses. Assessments Are Cut by Beaverhead County Board of Equalization

Beaverhead county Montana commissioners met July 17 1905 as a board of equalization to review assessments. Over four days they considered petitions for reductions by residents including Morse Dart Poindexter Bishop Hartwig Roe Jensen Mulaney Graeter Greater Engelsgjerd and others. Franchises for Great Falls Electric and Dillon Electric were cut by substantial amounts and objections to double assessments were noted with a hearing set for August 14 1905.

McKnight v Oregon Short Line Reversed by Idaho Supreme Court

The Idaho Supreme Court reversed the lower court in S. M. McKnight versus the Oregon Short Line, remanding for trial. The defect rests on three points: failure to plead the Idaho statute, lack of proof the railroad operated in Idaho, and absence of a written damages claim within 90 days. Furley Sues Bottler for Damages Over Fire Slur

J B Furley life insurance agent and former Dillon resident sues Fred Bottler rancher for 10000 dollars alleging Bottler accused him of setting fire to Bottler ranch buildings. Fire destroyed house and belongings, insured, with Furley claiming reputational harm from the slanderous remarks.
