Alfalfa Harvest Under Way with New Mowing Machines

Elza Murray of Beaverhead reports the alfalfa harvest is in full swing and keeping workers busy. Cunnard and Thomas of Dillon help with mowing machines while Masters Thomas and Lucian Newton return to Butte. The Hopp family from Birch Creek visits. Mrs Besick and children from Hutte visit Kambich's. Mrs Reichle and Tessie expect to be home this week.

Special Correspondence from Tareune RecursTeR July 16 reports the Wateeca baseball team defeating the Bridges team at Twin Bridges. Local updates note Mrs. J B Wenandy visiting from Le Sueur Minnesota, fishing trends, and injuries including Jack Goforth’s finger needing amputation after a Watseca accident.

Wrestling Match Called Off By McIntosh Injury

Chief Stone arranged a Dillon match in about two weeks between John H. McIntosh and a second wrestler not yet named. McIntosh wrestled here on July 4 and threw Adams twice in three falls. He reports a severe knee injury from pole vaulting and a sprained arm from a sparring contest at the Dillon Theatre, making him unable to wrestle for a month or more.

County Assessor Conger completed the rolls reporting a total increase of 243 040 over 1901 despite a 104 000 drop in net proceeds from mines and dredges. The record lists real estate values and personal property totals, railroad notes, and specific itemized values including mines, livestock, merchandise, and equipment.

Bloomer Girls Visited Dillon for Doubleheader Baseball

The New England Bloomer Girls team played two games against the Ditton Ball Players in Dillon. The afternoon tilt ended 16 to 11 for Dillon, while the night game tied with 11 runs apiece. Gena Poindexter umpired both games as Frank James did not appear. Ralph Sebree and Ed Wade pitched for Dillon.

Pleasant World Tour Exhibit Draws Wide Public Attention

Excursionists from Japan Germany Scotland the South and Dillon toured in a world around trip hosted by the Manse Railway Company. Seven or eight trains left Edie Station Tuesday evening as travelers enjoyed tea pretzels and music from J C Fenner Grant P Marsh and others. Proceeds reached about eighty dollars with light expenses and strong praise for the event as a public entertainment success.

Land Sale Boosts Beaverhead County Revenue at Dillon Auction

State Lands Register Thomas D. Long conducted a Dillon auction and leasing event drawing ranchers from throughout the county. About 1,360 acres sold at $10 to $25 per acre while roughly 15,000 acres were leased. Total receipts for the day neared $25,000 with anticipated further funds.
