Beaverhead pioneer John Wagner known as Jack, about 80, died at the county farm after being brought from Bannack for treatment. He spent over forty years in the county, mined in Jeff Davis gulch, and survived by unaffiliated single life with a reputation for charity. The Dillon community secured a proper funeral and burial at Mountain View cemetery.

Mr and Mrs Frank Shafer hosted a lawn party at Dillon Electric light plant on Wednesday evening. The event featured decorative flags colored lights and a fireworks display with guests including Mr and Mrs Arndts Robison Gruwell Hart Weiser Mrs Whittaker and Mr Bert Selway. Five cars of building sandstone were shipped from Dillon to Butte by W A O'Brien the contractor. The quarry, three miles west of Dillon, yields purple red white and yellow stones, with a car of each sent to Butte. O Brien leases the quarry and employs a sizable crew.
