Renfro Dominates Montana Trapshoot Titles at Helena Meet
Ted Renfro led Dillon Gun Club to victory at the Montana state trapshoot in Helena. He captured the singles 199 of 200, doubles 95, handicap 96 of 100, and all around 390 of 400, with Dillon posting 584 of 600 overall. The Standard trophy went Dillon’s way 438 to 434 over Helena. Dillon will host next year’s event.

Farm Loan Group Holds Meet Here
The national farm loan association and Land Bank of Spokane held a Dillon meeting to boost understanding and participation. Officials described decentralization, farmer ownership, and financing through production credit associations. About 50 NFLA members attended, with Beaverhead Madison NFLA directors named and the Dillon PCA noted. The group now makes new 20 to 34 year first mortgage loans at a 4 percent rate.

In 1935 motor vehicle gasoline consumption climbed 6.4 percent from the prior year, yielding state tax revenue of 619 million dollars. Floyd Paynish a Beaverhead county high school sophomore won first place in Montana state Long Time Farm Planning contest. One chapter sent, he earns a trip to the National FFA convention and American Royal show in Kansas City next October. Floyd comes from a Bannack Grasshopper Valley ranch family and has near straight A grades. this marks the third Beaverhead FFA member to reach a national event in two years.

Forest Fire on Painter Creek Near Horse Prairie
The Beaverhead area reports the season’s first serious forest fire on Painter creek a Horse Prairie tributary. Lightning likely started the blaze which spread across about nine acres. Ranchers Charles Brenner George Smith and James Mansfield alerted officials and aided dispatch of 25 CCC men arriving about 6 pm Sunday with 15 more en route. Fire crews aimed to have it under control by midnight.

Delegates Report Drouth Stricken Areas in Montana
Beaverhead ranchers Jack Keenan Jena Bay and Floyd Kenison returned from Billings where they attended Montana agricultural conservation committee meetings.
