Helena dispatch reports W A Clark widening his lead in the Montana Senate balloting with 84 votes and three new backers. Maginnis and Toole influence noted. Senate Bills 6 8 14 discussed. road supervision authority repealed. voter rules on county seat moves debated. state land and treasurer measures considered in houses.
The joint ballot shows Clark leading with 386 votes, Conrad 383, and minor figures. In the senate committee of the whole several measures were discussed including Whiteside’s bribe money appropriation bill and a similar House measure. The Geiger Whiteside contest is under re canvass and multiple bills were introduced on suffrage taxes loan associations organization and sheep herders rights.
Representative Lindsay of Daw son County announces his vote for Cornelius Hedges and lashes the rumor that money could buy fifteen Republican votes. He warns constituents will demand strict accountability and opposes any swerve from duty.

Paauvillle reports a week of illness with nearly all pupils and the teacher suffering from grip. Students and staff return to activity as of now. Rev. Cope of Dillon preached Wednesday night and lectured Thursday on The Lights of London, collecting 8.50 for the parsonage fund. Rev. Reed of Twin Bridges visited, Ford Burtch came from Dillon, L. Utley and family toured the Point of Hooks, Mae and Floyd Burtch attended a Dillon concert, and Mr. Trestle is recovering from the grip.
Lima notices the Evergreene Lodge No 45 A F and A M adopting resolutions after the death of Joseph Grant. They express sympathy to his family, drape the lodge chair in mourning for 30 days, and thank visiting brethren and Lima citizens for aid and the music.

Hannah of Sweetgrass County denounced Whiteside and described transfer talks involving Toole with Daly votes and Clark candidacy. Toole avoided sharp rhetoric in his reply.
