Dillon eyes another champion baseball team
Dillon leaders and business people form a temporary committee to raise funds for a new champion baseball team this season. M. E. Barry, a bank clerk, helped last year’s Dillon team and believes a stronger squad can be assembled. Two meetings drew large crowds as plans include Fourth of July events and a county fair to boost visitors and local business.

Unknown man found dead along Oregon Short Line near Dillon
County Coroner Walker presided over an inquest into the death of an unidentified man found beside the Oregon Short Line track about one mile north of Dillon. The jury found he was killed by a Short Line train sometime between 5 pm January 9 and 8 am January 10. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery. Dan Burkholder left for Fargo, N D, to pursue mining interests.

Justifiable Killing Near Butte Bride Shot by Groom on New Year's Day

Plans were examined bid plans opened and Charles G Sheeley of Denver awarded the contract for both bridges at 2996 total plus masonry, with completion by June 1 1908. Death due to failure to notify on locomotive move in Butte
Coroner inquest in Silver Bow County found Fireman William F. Hetrick died largely from his own oversight when he left the cab to open a draft under the Oregon Short Line locomotive at Buxton. The engineer did not know his plan and the engine moved three feet, injuring him. Hetrick died at the scene. his body was sent home to Lima for burial.
