Federal funds give work to unemployed men in Beaverhead County
Announcement saysBeaverhead County residents may register at the courthouse with Arthur Graeter for work funded by federal relief funds. A gravel loading plant was built near the river bridge and cemetery road gravelling began. About 113 men had registered. 20 to 25 have been placed, prioritized by need and dependents under the county projects directed by Commissioner W. B. Martwig.

Mrs. Charlotte Lyons widow of Philip Lyons longtime Centennial valley ranchman died at her Thomson avenue home last Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. Funeral held Monday at Brundage chapel with Rev. T J Simons officiating. Born 69 years ago in Canada she moved to Montana with her husband nearly 50 years ago and was among Centennial valley’s first settlers before relocating to Dillon. Survived by daughters Mrs Fred Porch Stevensville and Mrs Milton C Gunn Helena and sons Roscoe and Phillip Mond a, one son died in World War I.

An organization of community ladies formed to convert National Red Cross allotted piece goods into garments for needy families. A meeting with representatives from several women’s clubs was held, and sewing is planned at the building north of the First National Bank where relief supplies are stored and distributed.

Ex President Coolidge Dies of Heart Failure
Calvin Coolidge thirtieth president and last living ex president died at his Northampton Massachusetts home from heart failure after a severe indigestion attack. He had been at his law office that morning and collapsed on returning to his room. Funeral services were held at Edwards Congregational church in Northampton with President Hoover and other dignitaries attending.
